Annual Events

The Resurrection Drama
It takes place over several locations where different scenes are performed. The first scene is in Gethsemane where the temple guards arrest Jesus, the next scene is where Peter denies Jesus 3 times, then Jesus' trial before Pilate, then where Jesus or Barabbas is released, the next scene Jesus is strip of his clothes, given a crown thrones and carries the cross, the next scene Jesus is raised on the cross with thieves on the left and right of him, and the last scene is where Jesus is taken down and placed in the tomb. The event usually finishes with 200-300 people from the community who following the event to the end. Then, LCM offers them a chance to commit or renew their life with Jesus. The people are offered to pick a nail and hammer it into the wooden cross as an act to lay their burden or worries on Jesus. And then are offer to attend LCM for a place to worship Jesus. Back to School Event
Each year LCM is blessed by many organizations that support the back to school event to include The city of San Antonio, different beauty colleges provide haircuts, medical organizations that provide free vacations, flu shots, screening for diabetes, and dental services. The event has live music. Many organizations participate like the AIDS Foundation, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Habitat for Humanity, and the YMCA to name a few. Many local retail businesses donate, like the Dollar store who donated thousands of children's school back packs, pillows with animal prints, and school uniform shirts. Thanksgiving Event
Last Chance Ministires serves over 3,000 people each Thanksgiving. LCM is blessed with Contemporary, Tejano, Christian, and Rap bands who come from all over Texas. LCM has dozens of volunteers in the community who will cook a turkey or dressing or mash potatoes. The event has several kids' zones, duck pond, basketball, face painting and bounce castles. The following organizations have participated: Lady of the Lake University, City of Refuge, Oak Hills Church, YMCA, Henry Puffy Tacos, HEB, VIA, Mary Kay, AVON, Humane Society, SACU, Structured Dental, Cool Smiles and many more. Christmas Event
The Christmas event includes music and a meal for hundreds of families who live in the Westside. Last Chance Ministries We believe it's a great way to give back to the community and provide the Christmas Spirit. The Christmas event has the U.S. Air Force volunteer and donate over 1,000 toys and food. Annually, we have Santa Claus give out the Christmas presents to the children in the Westside community.
