Salvation Through Jesus Christ|
We believe the only way to receive salvation and inherit eternal life is by accepting Jesus Christ, the son of God, as your Lord and Savior. John 14:6 NLT "Jesus told Him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father, except through me."
Steps you must take:
A. You must admit your need - Romans 3:23 NLT. "For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard"
B. Believe in Christ - Romans 3:25 NLT. "For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God
when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood."C. Commit yourself to Christ - John 1:12 NLT. "But to all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to
become children of God."
We believe that the next step after becoming a Christ follower is to be baptized which means "to be dipped under water".
Why get baptized?
A. Example set by Jesus Christ - Matthew 3:13-15 NLT. "Then Jesus went from Galilee to the Jordan River to be
baptized by John. ...Jesus said, "It should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires."B. Jesus Christ commands it - Matthew 28:19-20 NLT. "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and Son and the Holy Spirit."C. Shows that I really am a believer - Acts 18:8 NLT. "...Many others in Corinth also heard Paul, became believers,
and were baptized."
We believe the God of the Bible is the only true God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 13:14 "May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all."
2. SALVATION BY GRACE
We believe a person comes into a right relationship with God by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast."
3. AUTHORITY OF THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is the Word of God and has the right to command my belief and action. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
4. PERSONAL GOD
We believe God is involved in and cares about our daily life. Psalms 121:1-2 "I lift up my eyes to the hills-where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth."
5. IDENTITY IN CHRIST
We believe I am significant because of my position as a child of God. John 1:12 "Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God."
We believe the church is God's primary way to accomplish His purpose on earth today. Ephesians 4:15-16 "Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work."
We believe all people are loved by God and need Jesus Christ as their Savior. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
We believe God calls all Christians to show compassion to those in need. Psalms 82:3-4 "Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."
We believe there is a heaven and hell and that Jesus Christ is returning to judge the earth and to establish His eternal Kingdom. John 14:1-4 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."
We believe that everything that we are or we own belongs to God. 1 Timothy 6:17-19 "Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant, nor to put their hope in their money, which is unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life."
We believe it is each individual Christian's responsibility and duty to commit to tithing and offerings. Malachi 3:8-10 NLT. "Should people cheat God? Yet you have cheated me! "But you ask, 'What do you mean? When did we ever cheat you?' "You have cheated me of the tithes and offerings due to me. You are under a curse, for your whole nation has been cheating me. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies, "I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won't have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! Your crops will be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease. Your grapes will not fall from the vine before they are ripe," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies. "Then all nations will call you blessed, for your land will be such a delight", says the LORD of Heaven's Armies.
What is a Tithe?
The tithe is the tenth (10%) of all the increase that God gives to you. What does "increase" include? "Increase" is everything that increases the value of earthly possessions that God places into your trust, whether it be earned income or unearned gifts. The tithe of your increase is not yours to give to God; it is God's for you to give to God, and it is a privilege for us to have it to give to Him. Jesus stressed that giving is an avenue for people to grow and experience greater spirituality. For example, we all know that when we give love, we get it back; the more we give, the more we receive. The principle is also true with our financial resources. When you ask someone why they tithe, you will always hear about the abundance tithing creates in their lives. Tithing is about faith--the knowingness that God will meet your every need.
What is an Offering?
Offerings are gifts brought to God beyond the tithes. God has given His people discretion as to the amount or number of offerings to bring. The depth of their zeal for God is shown by their choices concerning offerings.
What are Tithings and Offerings used for?
The church is an organization with a building and other expenses. Your tithes and offerings not only keep our doors open, but also allow us to plan for the future: to see when and where we can add additional ministries to serve you and the community to our fullest ability.
How often or when should I tithe or give an offering?
You should tithe the 10% of your gross income (before taxes) every time you're paid and as the bible states, it should be your first fruit. You can give an offering above your tithes, whenever.
Can I claim my tithing during income tax filing?
Yes! Every time you tithe, ensure the use of a tithing envelope is properly filled out with your name, address, and tithing amount. At the end of each year, upon your request, a letter of contribution will be prepared and mailed out to your address showing the total amount of giving for that year. You can use a copy of this letter to submit with your income tax filing.
